Learning and Development Specialist
About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join our team at MidKent College. As a key member of our Additional Learning Support Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to students with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). Your primary focus will be on planning, facilitating, and delivering individually tailored workshops and 1:1 support sessions that promote independence and lead to success in their chosen field.
Main Responsibilities:- Workshop Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and effective workshops that cater to the unique needs of each student, promoting independence and confidence-building skills.
- Collaboration with Curriculum Teams: Work closely with curriculum teams to set ambitious learning goals for learners, enabling them to develop essential skills for employment opportunities and everyday life.
- Learner Progress Assessment and Reporting: Assess, analyse, and report on learner progress, attending reviews as necessary to measure the impact of interventions on student achievement over time.
- Resource Utilization: Effectively utilize learning resources, including assistive technology and online/remote learning tools, to support students in overcoming barriers to achieving their challenging learning goals.
- Confidence and Self-Esteem Development: Review, develop, implement, and disseminate strategies to support learners in developing their confidence and self-esteem.
- Safeguarding and Inclusive Culture: Promote the work of the ALS team to curriculum areas and students, contributing to an inclusive culture at MidKent College.
