Train to be a First Call Operative Engineer

Are you a skilled Gas Engineer with CCN1 & MET1 certifications looking for a challenging contract with a great work-life balance and a new training opportunity? We have partnered with Cadent to provide Emergency Response Gas Escape Engineers working Monday to Friday days.

As part of this role, you will receive comprehensive training, including the CODNESP1 (Gas escape qualification) and direct training with Cadent Gas, along with mentoring before going live as an emergency response gas engineer in the Colchester area.

You will be responsible for restoring customers' gas supplies efficiently, dealing with internal and external gas escapes reported by the public, addressing pressure problems, pipe work reruns, surveys, and re-connections to the gas supply after disconnection, while minimizing disruption to customers.

Monday to Friday - 8-hour shifts between 8am - 8pm - all in day work. 2 weeks FCO training with Cadent Gas plus 2 weeks mentoring in your region. £2,000 lump sum bonus paid at the end of the contract. 23 days holiday + bank holidays (pro rata).


Everything Provided:
van, tools, uniform, fuel card & training.

We are seeking experienced professionals with a good understanding of gas appliances, testing, purging, and commissioning of pipework, installation, replacement, and maintenance of gas meters, as well as an understanding of Standards, Legislation, Codes of Practice, and Health and Safety.

We require excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, a full UK driving licence, and excellent pipework skills.
