Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community CAMHS East team. The successful candidate will work with children and young people who are presenting with complex mental health difficulties in the moderate to severe range.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will provide a high standard of care and offer a variety of specialist interventions under the Thrive framework, including family work and group work. They will work closely with a range of professionals from different agencies, including social care, acute care, and community and voluntary sector teams.

The post holder will be responsible for assessing and intervening with children, adolescents, and their families, with problems of emotional, psychological, or mental health difficulties. They will operate as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing child and adolescent mental health services.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a relevant professional qualification, such as a degree in nursing, psychology, or social work, and experience of working with children and adolescents with mental health difficulties. They will also have knowledge of child development, child and adolescent mental health, and an understanding of a range of theoretical approaches.

The post holder will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, managing a caseload of complex assessments, treatments, and consultations. They will also be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating with colleagues and other professionals to provide high-quality care.
