About the role:

  • With a background in landfill, quarrying, and/or civil engineering, you will have a solid understanding of regulatory permits, health & safety guidelines, and site operating plans.
  • As a leader, you will motivate your team to achieve their goals, presenting a positive and professional image at all times.
  • You will need to understand your strengths and play to them with confidence, taking personal responsibility for making things happen.
  • Self-motivation and a willingness to welcome feedback and learn/develop your skills, knowledge, and behaviour are essential.
  • Assertiveness and persistence in reacting positively to setbacks are necessary traits for this role.
  • Managing conflict and maintaining collaborative team-working is also crucial.

Key responsibilities:

  • You will plan and resource for long-term and short-term site objectives, ensuring they are executed according to agreed/legislated plan and methodology, within agreed timescales.
  • You will execute quarry and waste management plans, managing plant defect reporting to minimise plant downtime.
  • You will complete site administration tasks, including weekly costing information, purchase order submission, payroll, productivity reporting, and compliance checklists.
  • You will ensure all reporting deadlines are met and administration completed in accordance with company or external requirements.
  • You will manage HR tasks, including holidays, absenteeism, recruitment, reviews, performance management, training, and briefings.
  • You will maintain site housekeeping standards and infrastructure, ensuring complete site compliance with PPE requirements.
  • You will hold regular team meetings and facilitate team training, providing comprehensive and timely handovers to the covering Manager.
  • You will ensure all work is carried out in accordance with published Company policies and procedures.
