Radiation Protection and Science Manager

We are recruiting for a Radiation Protection and Science Manager to join our Radiation Services team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe use of ionising radiation and providing scientific and technical support to our nuclear medicine services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical physics and experience working with ionising radiation. You will be able to provide expert advice on radiation protection and lead on the implementation of quality assurance programs for nuclear medicine equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe use of ionising radiation in our nuclear medicine services
  • Provide scientific and technical support to our nuclear medicine services
  • Lead on the implementation of quality assurance programs for nuclear medicine equipment
  • Support and line manage clinical scientists, contribute to staff development and assist in the supervision of trainees undertaking the STP programme or equivalent
