Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatrician to join our team as a Consultant Paediatrician. The successful candidate will work closely with our senior medical workforce to promote a healthier and more resilient team, providing care of the highest quality.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the Acute Paediatric service, including provision of acute ward service, acute shifts on the Children's Assessment Unit, and provision of safeguarding medicals. They will also work within the specialty service multi-disciplinary team, providing both inpatient and community support for young people under the team.

As a Consultant Paediatrician at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates, as well as undertake audit and governance activity.

Person Specification

  • MRCPCH or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Expertise in the management of children with general paediatric problems, including safeguarding paediatrics
  • Completion of a recognised higher training programme in Paediatrics with Higher Specialist Training in General Paediatrics
  • APLS or equivalent
  • Experience of teaching undergraduates and postgraduates
