About the Role

This Production Administrator/Purchaser position offers an exciting opportunity to join a thriving manufacturing company in Maidstone. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for supporting production and purchasing activities to ensure efficient operations and high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Creation of production documentation, including quality control checklists.
  2. Close collaboration with internal sales and production teams to streamline order processing.
  3. Regular communication with the Belgium head office to provide timely updates on responses and lead times.
  4. General administrative tasks and ad-hoc duties as required.
  5. Development and maintenance of ISO procedures, forms, and policies for the production department.
  6. Creation of quality checklists to verify products meet standards before dispatch.
  7. Support in updating the monthly work-in-progress spreadsheet for the accounts team.
  8. Negotiation of prices with subcontractors and development of strong working relationships.
  9. Monitoring of inventory levels and placement of purchase orders as necessary.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a production or purchasing role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Desirable: Proficiency with AS400 and Microsoft Office Suite.
