NCC Group is a global leader in software escrow solutions, dedicated to protecting businesses from unforeseen disruptions. As a trusted intermediary for some of the world's best-known brands, we safeguard access to vital code and digital assets, ensuring business continuity and the protection of software investments. With over 40 years of experience, NCC Group has pioneered the software escrow category, recognizing the growing technology dependence of businesses and the need for a safety mechanism.
The Data and Reporting Team is a newly formed team within NCC Group with the mission to deliver a data strategy tailored to our business, delivering innovation and supporting business growth. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer who will drive the successful creation of a brand-new data platform in the Microsoft Azure and Fabric space.
This will provide the services and tools to extract deeper insights from big and complex data, help us drive data quality improvements across the business, and enable our stakeholders to adopt a data-driven approach. You'll support the rollout of this platform through your technical expertise, methodical approach to lean architecture, and solid data governance foundations, helping NCC Group deliver against its core mission-led strategic objectives. Your past experience will help guide decision-making on platform architecture, and therefore great communication skills are important for this role.
The platform will be designed to be iterative and adaptive, allowing the addition of new data sources, analytical models, and data solutions with ease, ensuring that NCC Group stays current and leverages the latest advancements in data intelligence. Our complex system landscape will require you to think of innovative solutions regarding our operational data and how to utilize it best within the business.
As part of our Global Technology Services Department (Global IT), within the Data and Reporting Team dedicated to NCC Group, you will closely collaborate with our group Data and Reporting team, as well as all areas of the business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Create and continuously develop NCC Group's own Data Platform, ensuring its availability and performance to meet business needs.
- Build data pipelines to connect APIs, files, databases, and data streams to our Data Platform.
- Own and manage the ETL/ELT for the Data Platform end-to-end, including our dimensionally modeled semantic layer.
- Define and embed data quality measures within data pipelines.
- Ensure data integrity, monitoring, and alerting are integrated into all solutions.
- Create and manage Build and Deployment pipelines.
- Drive the overall design of the Data Platform not just now, but in our future state, whatever that may look like.
- Collaborate closely with the Data Engineers in our Group team sharing best practices and enabling efficient group reporting practices.
- Work in an Agile Kanban workflow to safely code, review, test, and deploy solutions using source control.
