Mechanical Engineering Manager

Job Overview:
BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our team as a Principal Engineer - Fluid Systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of the Mechanical Platform Systems that deliver crucial ship services and crew life support capabilities for the next generations of Nuclear Submarine.
Key Responsibilities:
- To lead the development of functional engineering solutions that meet complex cross-functional interactions and requirements.
- Collaborating with suppliers to develop and capture equipment and component specifications that meet challenging demands.
- Working closely with customers to develop requirements and acceptance criteria based on operational scenarios, use cases, and other design considerations.
- Leading the performance and review of engineering calculations and analysis to inform design decisions and demonstrate system performance.
Requirements:
- Degree-level education in engineering, mechanical or science subjects.
- Chartered Engineer status within a recognised engineering institute.
- Background in fluid systems design.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Estimated Salary: Circa £52,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Filton, and Portsmouth
