About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Singing for the Brain Support Volunteer. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and companionship to individuals affected by dementia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and engaging with individuals with dementia, creating a sense of community and belonging.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to individuals, helping them to feel at ease and valued.
  • Assisting with the setup and facilitation of singing sessions, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  • Supporting the session facilitator with activities, either online or in-person, and providing encouragement to participants to engage with the music.

Requirements

  • A genuine interest in developing meaningful relationships and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen actively and empathetically.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to navigate online platforms and use Zoom with confidence (for virtual sessions).
