Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist to join our team at North East London NHS Foundation Trust.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to children and young people with mental health needs across Havering. They will provide senior medical support to the team, direct input on clinical matters, and guidance and supervision to junior colleagues.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to children and young people with mental health needs.
- Provide senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical matters.
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior colleagues.
- Work directly with children and young people and their families, liaising as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers.
- Develop links with local acute trusts A&E departments and inpatient wards.
- Be responsible for patients allocated to them and will assess, manage, plan, and deliver care.
- Support peers and the team manager, being an effective team member while working on their own initiative.
- Supervise junior colleagues and liaise with other health and social professionals and agencies.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
- Section 12 certification, or a commitment to work towards this.
- Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental disorders.
- At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
