Polaris Community, a leading provider of children's services in the UK, is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Compliance Specialist to join their Estates Team.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves providing high-quality health and safety management and administration across the group and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be part of a community that strives to deliver exceptional services to young people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate and support compliance with health and safety regulations, including the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation and communicate key updates to senior management and staff as required.
  • Lead the achievement of external health and safety accreditation as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Embed robust monitoring of all aspects of health and safety across all component company offices.
  • Ensure delivery of health and safety-related actions and associated paperwork as required by Ofsted and other governing bodies.
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess excellent computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency, and be able to produce reports. They should have strong influencing and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and handle changing priorities.

Previous experience in a health and safety environment is essential, along with a National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) certification or equivalent. Experience working within a commercial property environment is also desirable.

Benefits

Polaris Community offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including 30 days annual leave increasing to 35 days with length of service, company pension scheme, life insurance, employee discount scheme, and free parking.
