The Underwriting Assistant will provide assistance primarily to the business Treaty team but also to other teams to support renewal and new business activities. The level of responsibilities is expected to increase over time to take over more tasks from the underwriters to free their time to underwrite business and cultivate good client relationships. The candidate should show high motivation, and ambition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administers accurate and timely input of data onto the relevant systems, including premium, conditions, endorsements, quotes, and renewal entries, and manages own workload appropriately.
  • Responds positively when data quality issues are identified within work, and takes corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Consistently prepares high-quality submission data and ad hoc reports.
  • Compares wordings and slips, and prepares them for signature.
  • Maintains, organizes, and completes the underwriting filing system.
  • Audit: provides auditors with files, responds to queries, and provides evidence for any entries made in the system.
  • Supports various month-end procedures as directed, including liaising with technical accounting teams.
  • Participates in and supports the manager in projects.
  • Conferences: assists the head of the team in organizing meetings with clients and brokers.
