**Job Title:** Senior Software Engineer - Manufacturing Execution System

**Location:** Birmingham

**Salary Range:** £65,000 per annum

**Summary:**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Birmingham. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the development of a Manufacturing Execution System (M.E.S), a critical project that will help streamline production processes, reduce downtime, and enable better decision-making.

**Role Purpose:**

The Senior Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and supporting the new M.E.S application from the ground up using modern technologies. This system will be built using the latest .NET framework and Blazor, and will help our clients in the manufacturing sector to improve their operational efficiency and productivity.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Lead the development of the new M.E.S system, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with IT and project teams to gather and understand business requirements.
  • Design responsive, secure, and user-friendly applications using modern technologies.
  • Full-cycle development: from design and coding to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Develop and integrate databases, implement cybersecurity measures, and ensure seamless application functionality.
  • Create visually appealing and professional UI layouts, collecting feedback to improve designs.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of development work and produce user manuals where needed.
  • Provide training and support to users of the developed system.
  • Assist in other IT projects as necessary.

**Requirements:**

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in developing Blazor applications and hosting them in Azure, along with a background in microservice architecture. Strong skills in creating responsive UI using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap are essential, along with knowledge of best security practices like JWT tokens and multi-factor authentication.

**Technical Skills:**

  • Languages/Frameworks: C#, .NET (5-7), ASP.NET, MVC, Blazor
  • Web Technologies: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap 4+, jQuery
  • Databases: SQL Server 2019+, XML, JSON
  • Tools/Platforms: Visual Studio, GIT, API development, IIS setup/hosting
  • Security Practices: Multi-factor authentication, JWT tokens, secure password implementation
