Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Regional Children and Young People's Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our Community Domestic Violence and Abuse Support Service, you will provide direct school-based support to children and young people affected by domestic abuse and violence in the home.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one casework and group programs aimed at increasing safety, improving well-being, and developing coping skills for children and young people affected by domestic abuse and violence.
- Work in partnership with professionals within the education setting to provide training on disclosures and support.
- Carry a caseload, including risk assessment, needs assessment, support planning, outcomes, and case review.
- Collaborate with other services within BCWA and key agencies to assess risk and provide tailored support plans for service users.
- Experience of working with children and young people who have experienced trauma in one-to-one and group work settings.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a caseload effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with professionals, children, and young people.
- Knowledge of child development, trauma, and the impact of domestic abuse and violence on children and young people.
- Ability to work in a culturally sensitive and inclusive manner.
