About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ecological Consultant to join our team at CleanTech Talent. As an Ecological Consultant, you will be responsible for leading ecological surveys, preparing comprehensive reports, and collaborating with our landscape planning and arboriculture teams to deliver integrated project solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting a variety of ecological surveys, including protected species surveys and habitat assessments (UKHab)
  • Preparing comprehensive ecological reports, such as Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments
  • Collaborating with landscape planning and arboriculture teams to deliver integrated project solutions
  • Supporting the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and planning applications
  • Liaising with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
Requirements
  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in ecological consultancy or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies
  • Proven experience in conducting and leading a variety of ecological surveys
  • Working knowledge of UKHab survey techniques and Statutory BNG
  • Desired experience using GIS to produce highly accurate digital outputs (QGIS)
  • Excellent report-writing skills with attention to detail
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or working towards it
  • A full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites
