Maintenance Engineer Position

Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased)
This role is part of a global automated distribution organisation, looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer (Electrically Biased) to work in one of their newest UK facilities.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all automated materials handling systems, as well as carry out PPMs, reactive maintenance, and project work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all automated materials handling systems
- Carry out PPMs, reactive maintenance, and project work
- Working on conveyors, automated stacker cranes, SCADA systems, barcode readers, scanners, cooling systems, refrigeration, site services, palletisers, automated turntables, PLCs, elevators
- Working in a cold storage / freezer facility
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance of automated stacker cranes that can operate up to 32 metres high
- Maintaining refrigeration, chiller systems, facilities, shutter doors, site and building services
- Assist in developing PPM schedules for all new machinery and systems
- Majority of the workload is problem-solving and fault-finding at the moment
- Dealing with gearboxes, bearings, rollers, shafts, drives, sensors, control panels, servo drives
Salary Information:
The estimated salary for this role is around £45,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.
Requirements:
- Must be a multi-skilled engineer - electrically biased
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical Engineering
- Ideally apprenticeship trained
- Happy working at heights - up to 32 metres on cranes
- Ideally have 18th Edition
- Comfortable working in cold and freezer (-22 degrees) conditions on and off
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ideally have worked in automated warehouse, distribution, FMCG, manufacturing
- Experienced in working on conveyors, rollers, stackers, refrigeration, chillers, site services
- PLC - electrical fault-finding skills
- Be an open character and team player, willing to help in all areas across the site
