Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Backend Developer to enhance our team, responsible for developing and upgrading existing systems. As a member of both the business and development teams, you will acquire a strong understanding of structured products and core business processes. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in financial markets and experience as a developer or analyst.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Acquire in-depth knowledge of business applications and work closely with specifications to handle questions, problems, or issues.
  2. Develop new or existing systems using Adobe ColdFusion, Java, MySQL, and Vue.js.
  3. Contribute across various development roles, including application backends, frontends, database engineering, numerical models, and internal tools.
  4. Stay up-to-date with new development tools, programming languages, and paradigms as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Experience with software development using at least one high-level object-oriented language such as Java, Python, or C#.
  2. Confident numerically and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  3. Able to develop a deep understanding of financial structured products, methodologies, numerical techniques, and internal systems.
  4. Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  5. Motivated individual keen to learn, develop, and contribute.
  6. Relevant qualification to a graduate level, such as Computer Science or Mathematics.
  7. Organised and disciplined approach to application development, testing, and troubleshooting, individually or as part of a team.
  8. Demonstrate high-quality written and verbal communication skills.
