Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the expansion of our midwifery sonographer team across North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

The role will support existing teams to deliver antenatal screening services to nearly 5000 women at our Peterborough site and a further 2000 at our Huntingdon site.

About the Role
  • The successful candidate will work independently to perform ultrasound examinations and provide diagnostic reports for patients accessing the obstetric ultrasound department.
  • They will be responsible for performing a wide range of obstetric scans, including dating and first trimester combined screening scans, anomaly scans, growth scans, and umbilical artery Doppler in accordance with guidelines set out by the Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme.
  • The post holder will counsel women undertaking diagnostic testing, participate in the training and education of nursing/midwifery students, and supervise staff undertaking Sonography training.

This is an autonomous practitioner role that promotes best practice and high standards while working closely with obstetric and midwifery colleagues.
