Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled General Trauma Surgeon with a special interest in Upper Limb surgery to join our Orthopaedic department. The successful candidate will be part of our Major Trauma Service and will be expected to work collaboratively with our team to provide high-quality patient care.

About the Department

Our Orthopaedic department is a dynamic and forward-thinking team that provides a comprehensive range of services, including trauma care, elective surgery, and postgraduate training. We are proud to be one of the four Major Trauma Units in Scotland, with a dedicated ward, team, and rehabilitation facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality trauma care to patients, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
• Contribute to the development and implementation of trauma care protocols and guidelines
• Participate in the teaching and training of junior doctors and medical students
• Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Full GMC registration and a licence to practiceEligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register or equivalentHigher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration CESR
