Operational Excellence Specialist

The Operational Excellence Specialist role involves overseeing the daily transport operation, ensuring a timely and cost-effective delivery service while promoting teamwork in a people-oriented environment. This position requires excellent organisational and leadership skills to coordinate and control the transport operation effectively.
As a Transport Supervisor at GXO Logistics, you will hold responsibility for compliance with Company and Statutory requirements regarding Operator Licence, H&S, service quality, Drivers' hours and tacho regulations, inclusive of the working time directive. You will also support Transport Manager, planners, and administration staff to ensure the smooth running of the transport operation.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working a 4 on, 4 off rotating shift pattern, 06:00 – 18:00 and 18:00 – 06:00. The salary for this role is £96,000 per annum, and you will also receive 26 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily transport operation, ensuring a timely and cost-effective delivery service.
- Ensure compliance with Company and Statutory requirements regarding Operator Licence, H&S, service quality, Drivers' hours and tacho regulations, inclusive of the working time directive.
- Support Transport Manager, planners, and administration staff to ensure the smooth running of the transport operation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in operational management and leadership.
- Strong understanding of transport knowledge including route planning and vehicle/transport legislation/H&S legislation.
