About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contract Manager to join our Procurement and Commercial team, supporting the SSEN Large Capital Delivery Directorate.

As a key member of our team, you will provide pre and post-contract procurement and commercial support to various projects, including complex large capital projects.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the tender process for capital projects, from invitation to tender to contract award and subsequent commercial management of the delivery phase.
  • Procuring essential work scopes at the lowest cost of ownership, in accordance with the principles of efficiency and best value.
  • Developing Procurement and Commercial strategies in line with Capital Projects Governance requirements.
  • Complying with all safety policies and procedures, promoting safety and safe working practices both internally and externally.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification, with professional membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS or CICES.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016.
  • Commercial governance experience in delivering large capital projects, with expertise in estimating, sourcing management, cost and budget management, and contract administration.
  • Experience of drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, including knowledge of Standard Form construction contracts and bespoke contract arrangements.
