Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

CV Library is recruiting a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our esteemed client's team in Burton-on-Trent. Our client is a leading global food provider with a rich history dating back to 1991.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and services in our food production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing reactive, proactive, and preventative maintenance tasks as directed by the Senior Shift Technician.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including service and repair of equipment, fitting spares, and conducting quality inspections.
  2. Respond promptly to machine/equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
  3. Develop and track improvement projects to enhance delivery, timeliness, and cost efficiency.
  4. Maintain health, safety, quality, and environmental standards in accordance with good engineering practice.
  5. Comply with all factory standards and procedures, and accurately complete engineering-related paperwork and documentation.
  6. Contribute to the site's food safety culture by identifying and mitigating potential deviations in the process.
  7. Understand and adhere to Company policies and procedures relevant to the site and working environment.
Requirements:
  1. City & Guilds 2357 Level 3 NVQ electro technical technology (Level 2 minimum).
  2. 17th/18th Edition electrical qualification BS7671.
  3. Mechanical experience, NVQ Level 2/3 multi-skilled maintenance.
  4. Appropriate Health, Safety & Environmental training and experience.
  5. Computer literate in Microsoft Excel.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills - GCSE grade C or above in English.
  7. Understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
  8. Experience of working in a food-manufacturing environment.
  9. Able to work as part of a multi-skilled team and promote team working at all times.
  10. Flexibility to cover all shifts, particularly in times of holidays and sickness.
  11. Minimum food hygiene level 2.
