Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV 1 Shunter Driver to join our team at Workforce Staffing Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely moving and parking vehicles and trailers in our yard, adhering to site procedures and company compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Movement: Safely move trailers from the parking area onto the loading bay, and then to the despatch area once loaded.
  • Trailer Maintenance: Conduct daily and weekly vehicle maintenance checks, and complete full trailer audits as required.
  • Yard Operations: Ensure a safe, clean, and tidy working environment, adhering to hygiene standards and procedures.
  • Logistics: Assist with deliveries to other depots, ensuring vehicles are not overweight prior to leaving site.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company procedures for Tachograph, Product Safety, Legality and Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental Management.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: UK Driving Licence with a Cat C+E entitlement, in-date Digi & CPC Card, and no more than 6 points for minor offences.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to work weekends.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
