About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to work as a Mail Sorter in our Sheffield warehouse. As a Mail Sorter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that letters and packages are sorted and delivered efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unload mail and parcels from vehicles and sort them within the warehouse.
  • Process and dispatch items to their destinations.
  • Work as part of a team to handle large volumes of mail, potentially sorting over a million items in a single shift.
  • Adapt to various tasks throughout the shift and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Operate and move heavy trolleys and lift mail bags as part of your daily tasks.
  • Stand for extended periods while maintaining a high level of productivity.

Requirements:

  • No previous experience with Royal Mail required, though experience in warehouse or sorting work is beneficial.
  • Previous experience with distribution companies like Amazon, DPD, DHL, or XPO is highly regarded.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, detail-focused, and comfortable with switching tasks.
  • Capable of pushing trolleys (up to 250kgs) and lifting/moving mail bags (up to 11kg).
  • Comfortable standing for long periods.

  • Early: 06:00-14:00 - £12.29 per hour
  • Late: 14:00-22:00 - £13.63 per hour
  • Night: 22:00-06:00 - £14.81 per hour
  • Bank Holiday: £18.44 per hour
