Event and Conference Technician

About The Role
proAV Limited is seeking an experienced Event and Conference Technician to join our Glasgow team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical onsite support in event spaces, conference rooms, and meeting rooms. You will have exposure to a variety of technologies, including meeting room, events, video conference scheduling, and live streaming services.
Key Responsibilities
- Setup and operation of integrated events spaces, including high-profile auditorium-based results presentations and town halls.
- Proficient in audio, video, and lighting equipment, both digital and analogue.
- Video conference and audio conference setup and support with software and hardware platforms, including Zoom, Cisco, and Polycom systems.
- Manage all aspects of video calls, from initial booking to monitoring and completion, including scheduling and full systems operational testing.
- Prepare equipment for future events and meetings as required.
- Work alongside the Breakfix team to locate faults and provide resolutions, including fixing, replacing, or upgrading hardware.
- First- and second-line repairs and ongoing preventative maintenance, including daily checks on all equipment in the building.
- Audio visual support to other areas of the business, including setting up PA systems and assisting with presentations in meeting rooms.
- Ability to work in a team and as a sole technician responsible for a client site, with the main client interface.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work calmly under pressure and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
- Presentable and able to liaise with senior executives in a calm and professional manner, both face-to-face and via telephone or Zoom.
- Required to work onsite shifts to meet requirements, with a flexible approach to ensure out-of-hours events are covered.
- Liaise with the help desk and operations team to arrange backup support when required.
- Administration necessary to support the role, including using Microsoft Office applications, Zoom back-end bespoke ticketing systems, and room booking software.
- Attend other sites as required, including outside of London.
- Support the Livestreaming team as required.
- Proactively train and support end users as required.
Requirements
- Fully competent with all installed and portable technologies.
- Provide support on an individual basis to users at all levels of seniority.
- Assist with high-level audio/visual quality of presentations, including optimization of content aspect ratios, resolutions, and file formats.
- Attend and remain on station for important events as required.
- Working any rotational shift basis as required.
- Administration necessary to support the role, including email correspondence using professional language and decorum.
