Operations Manager

DCT Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations / Production Manager to join our client's team. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the manufacturing process, ensuring efficient production, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and optimize production planning to meet delivery dates and schedules.
- Embed a Continuous Improvement culture, operating under lean principles and JIT operations.
- Build strong relationships with the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Manage the throughput of materials, production, inspection, and packing to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and maintain high-quality levels.
- Control maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure continuous production.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the production team.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Director to provide technical guidance and support in the sales process.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a management role within a CNC complex Engineering / Manufacturing environment.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a degree or HND in a related field.
- High degree of technical competence in CNC machining and related processes.
- Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings.
- Experience in the use of AutoCAD/Draftsight and CAM systems.
- Experience of operating ERP systems, maintaining Bill of Materials, Production routes, etc.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and develop staff.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Desirable Experience and Skills:
- Strong knowledge and practical understanding of ISO 9001.
- Experience of lean manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Continuous improvement mentality to drive quality improvement throughout the business.
