Job Description

**Job Summary:**

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a top primary school in Leicester. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, providing individualized care and education to help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support Student Learning: Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
  2. Behavior Management: Develop and implement effective behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and reduce challenging behavior in students.
  3. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  4. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular reports to teachers and parents.
  5. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications and Experience: Hold a relevant qualification in teaching or a related field, with experience working with students with special educational needs.
  2. Behavior Management Techniques: Possess a range of behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and reduce challenging behavior in students.
  3. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  4. Enhanced DBS Certificate: Hold an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to complete one.
