Cloud Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to lead and manage a team of experienced cloud engineers at Hastings Direct. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering cloud features and functionality on our new core strategic platform built on Azure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of experienced cloud engineers
  • Design, develop, and deliver cloud features and functionality on our new core strategic platform
  • Migrate our core services from on-prem datacentres to Azure
  • Use agile working practices to collaborate across engineering disciplines and with strategic partners
  • Work with our Architecture function to define cloud best practice and design cloud native services
  • Develop a product catalogue based on Infrastructure as Code to empower developers
Requirements:
  • Experience of managing or leading a team
  • Recent and strong experience of Azure, specifically building infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
  • Hands-on experience with public cloud technologies and services
  • Strong scripting ability in languages such as PowerShell and Bash
  • Experience with Git and source control best practice
