Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a supportive and nurturing environment to help students build self-confidence, independence, and essential social skills.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the child's needs are met effectively.
  • Help manage behaviour and encourage positive interactions, supporting the student's overall well-being and academic achievement.
  • Ensure continuity in learning and offer assistance in all classroom activities, including sensory and therapeutic interventions where necessary.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Previous experience working with children in an SEN environment, or complex additional learning and behavioural needs, particularly in a 1:1 setting, or else as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
  • A DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
