About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Support Specialist to join our team at Academics Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting vulnerable children in their school environment, helping them to achieve calm and regulated moods to access their learning and development.

As a SEMH Learning Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional support with their Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your role will involve assisting the children with self-regulation activities and techniques, as well as providing emotional support and guidance when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEMH needs in a school environment
  • Assisting students with self-regulation activities and techniques
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to students
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to develop individualized support plans

Requirements:

  • Experience working with vulnerable children or adolescents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess a good understanding of SEMH needs and how to support students
