About the Role

Ramboll Group A/S is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Principal Power Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our power systems engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality solutions to our clients in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Power System Analysis - Conduct load flow, short circuit, harmonic analysis, dynamic & transient stability, and protection studies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of power systems.
  • Power System Modelling - Develop and maintain accurate power system models using industry-standard tools such as DigSilent and ETAP.
  • Data Analysis - Analyze and interpret simulation and test data to inform decision-making and optimize power system performance.
  • Delivering Results - Prepare and present high-quality reports and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Client/Colleague Engagement - Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues through effective communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Continuous Learning - Stay up-to-date with the latest technical engineering codes and practices, and apply this knowledge to deliver high-quality solutions to clients.
  • Collaboration - Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders, to deliver holistic power system planning and design solutions.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior/Principal Power Systems Engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality solutions to our clients. You will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a minimum of a BSc/BEng degree, and experience working with power simulation software packages such as DigSilent and ETAP.

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering Degree - Minimum BSc/BEng degree in electrical engineering, with a strong background in power systems.
  • Power Simulation Software - Proficiency in DigSilent, ETAP, and other power simulation software packages.
  • Team Player - Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial Awareness - Strong commercial awareness and ability to generate business through existing and new workstreams.
  • IT Literacy - High level of IT literacy and numeracy skills.

Desirable Skills

  • PSCAD Knowledge - Knowledge and experience with PSCAD modelling software.
  • Scripting Capability - Scripting capability in Python, DPL, and/or Fortran.
  • Grid Connection Experience - Experience in developing grid connections in accordance with transmission or distribution codes.
  • Due Diligence Experience - Experience in due diligence and owner's engineer roles.
  • Ambitions - Ambitions to further grow the department and contribute to the success of Ramboll, both in the UK and internationally.
