Job Title: Multi Skilled Operative

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Multi Skilled Operative to join our team at Tarmac's Tilbury Wharf site in East London. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our ship operations, working at height on our conveyors, and maintaining our mobile plant.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Securing Tarmac's Ships in dock
  • Working at height on the conveyors across the ships and across water
  • Operating Mobile Plant on site
  • Working with other members of the team to ensure that customers receive good quality material and on-time deliveries
  • Assisting the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
  • Following SHE policies and procedures
  • Ensuring Plant both fixed and mobile conforms with safety requirements at all times
  • Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
  • Inspections on the plant and acting on defects and implementing remedial action
  • Ensuring that plant availability is maximised
  • Working to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Ships / Vessels
  • Knowledge and experience of Plant operations – both mobile and fixed plant
  • Confident working at height and working near water
  • Good Timekeeping – flexible as to the site requirements
  • Good Communication skills – bringing problems to the attention of Line Management
