Civil Engineer Job Description

In this role, you will contribute towards building and applying extensive domain and technical knowledge for design intent, as-built-drawings, and performance through life for engineered structures. You will interpret and deliver the requirements of issued tasks and projects from the Capital Engineering CS&A order book and make evidence-based professional engineering decisions to solve technical problems. You will identify and escalate business risk arising from condition of engineered systems and structures, demonstrate adherence to management system requirements and relevant technical standards, and work collaboratively with other teams to ensure effective project delivery.

A successful candidate will have experience in building structural assessment, foundation design, potable water and drainage design, seismic assessment, structural analysis, highways design, quantity surveying, and construction site supervision. They will have relevant legislation, ACOP, and common industry standards knowledge, as well as higher hazard / regulated industries experience, if possible. The candidate will also have a strong understanding of management system requirements and relevant technical standards.

AWE plc offers a competitive salary of £37,860 - £51,000, depending on suitability and experience. In addition, we offer a range of benefits, including a 9-day working fortnight, 208 hours of holiday each year, a market-leading contributory pension scheme, family-friendly policies, employee assistance programme, and occupational health services. Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
