Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and skilled professional to lead our Vitreo-Retinal service.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in outpatient activity leading and managing specialist VR, MR, and general ophthalmology clinics.
  • Involve in preoperative management prior to surgery and all aspects of operative care for patients.
  • Spend equivalent of two sessions in the operating theatre and three/four sessions a week in outpatient clinic, in addition to administrative, management, clinical governance, and supporting professional activity duties.

Requirements
  • FRCOphth (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
  • Recognised sub-speciality training in vitreo-retinal surgery and/or Medical Retina.
