Early Years SEN Teacher Role

We are seeking a dedicated Early Years SEN Teacher to join our team at Wayman Learning Trust in Lambeth. As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the needs of children with special educational needs in the early years setting.
  • Create a warm and welcoming classroom environment that promotes exploration and creativity.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and support staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to parents and colleagues on individual development.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social and emotional growth alongside academic learning.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early years education and SEN.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in Early Years settings, particularly with children who have special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and effective teaching strategies for SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
  • A patient, compassionate, and creative approach to teaching.
  • A DBS check is required.
