Job Description

Role Overview

Ackerman Pierce is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join their Mental Health Team in Colindale. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and experience in assessments, care planning, and promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality social work services to adults in line with the Care Act 2014 and Barnet's local policies.
  • Provide professional social work assessments and support to adults and their carers.
  • Develop and review individualised, outcomes-focused care plans.
  • Promote health, independence, and resilience through access to quality information and preventative services.
  • Supervise and support junior staff members when appropriate.
  • Conduct Mental Capacity Act assessments, supporting adults in decision-making.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, including hospital trusts, ICBs, and voluntary services.
  • Promote the use of direct payments and support clients in navigating financial assessments.
  • Manage caseloads and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Chair and participate in meetings with clients, families, and other professionals.

Requirements

  • Essential: Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience in safeguarding vulnerable adults and providing high-quality assessments.
  • Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and the Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to promote independence and personalise care plans based on clients' needs.
  • Competency in using case management systems.
