Job Summary:

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented individual to drive critical workstreams, steer and support the delivery of Ofgem's goals of protecting consumers and delivering the net zero transition. The successful candidate will have expertise in strategic thinking, analysis, and communication, with a strong ability to work collaboratively and at pace to turn strategy into delivery.

About the Team:

The new Delivery Unit sits at the centre of the organisation, positioned within the GEMA (Board) and Executive directorate. The role holder will report to the Delivery Unit Senior Advisor and work closely with the Strategy Directorate and Comms Directorate, as well as other policy, regulatory, and corporate services functions and directorates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide assistance to effectively deliver priority projects, coordinate across the Delivery Unit, track activities and actions agreed, schedule meetings, and write update reports.
  2. Responsible for high-quality, timely, and robust analysis of core issues and policy options, and evidence-based recommendations.
  3. Support and direct key workstreams, including responsibility for internal and external stakeholder engagement by prioritising, scoping, and delivering work.
  4. Assist with stakeholder engagement across Ofgem, including setting up meetings and providing the required secretariat.
  5. Develop effective working relationships and networks with a range of internal stakeholders.
  6. Assist with the smooth transition at the end of Delivery Unit work, including preparing handover materials and documenting lessons learned.

Key Outputs and Deliverables:

  1. Conduct high-quality, well-structured analysis and research, and present insights and key findings.
  2. Embed inputs from stakeholder engagement into Delivery Unit research and project outputs as needed.
  3. Draft clear and concise documents, including briefings, policy documents, presentations, and reports.
  4. Draft Delivery Unit highlight reports and governance updates to the agreed format and frequency, including identifying and reporting on risks.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple and concurrent priorities.
  2. Strong analysis and research skills, excellent ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative information, identify issues, synthesise diverse sources and intelligence, and develop options and recommendations on a wide range of issues.
  3. Stakeholder engagement: a track record of building collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders, engaging and influencing to secure desired outcomes.
  4. Communications: excellent ability to communicate effectively to a range of internal and external audiences, both in writing and in presentations, and to convey complex issues clearly and concisely.
