A Cleaning Supervisor role has become available with BAM FM, a leading facilities management company. This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours Monday to Friday with possible evening shifts and involving travel across our project portfolio.

As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will work closely with a team of cleaners, providing supervision and ensuring a high standard of cleaning across all areas, adhering to BICS standards. This is a mobile role, with hours split across several sites and offices throughout the working week. Ideally, the successful candidate will be based in the Manchester area for ease of cover and travel, and a company van will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with key performance indicators.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and compliance guidelines, rules, and procedures.
  • Manage any cleaning job cards that arise within the time frame allowed.
  • Ensure staffing levels, including annual leave, are managed, and where necessary, report to the Contracts Manager to provide adequate support.
  • Supervise all cleaning staff through daily individual personal communication and the use of appropriate methods.
  • Ensure adequate stocks of consumables are available in nominated cleaning stores and submit requests for replenishments as needed, within the agreed financial allocation.
  • Collate and submit cleaning staff timesheets and monthly absence reports.
  • Carry out periodic performance auditing on your team and sites, attending other sites within the portfolio as required.
  • Assist in the training of cleaning staff in the use of approved equipment and methodology, following BICS standards.
  • Conduct regular TBT (toolbox talks) in line with company requirements, on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure all employees are compliant with their responsibilities as set out in the BAM FM Code of Conduct.
  • Monitor and record staff holidays correctly, in accordance with BAM policies and procedures.
  • Operate as part of the wider One BAM ethos, building good relationships with clients.
  • Report any shortfalls or concerns identified to the Contracts Manager.
  • Assist the Cleaning Manager with the Company Quality Assurance Audit, as specified.
  • Carry out cleaning audits across projects and attend client meetings as required.
  • Ensure all BAM FM policies, procedures, and standards are in place and adhered to.
Requirements
  • Previous supervisory experience in a cleaning environment similar to the position advertised.
  • Confidence in managing a team.
  • BIC's cleaning qualification or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and H&S.
  • Ability to motivate and manage staff performance, ensuring standards are maintained and required training is carried out.
  • A full clean driving license is essential for this role, as a company van will be provided.
