Job Description

Heriot Brown In-House Legal Recruitment is seeking a senior lawyer to join their team as a managing counsel for a major infrastructure project at a multinational energy business.

This role involves ensuring the smooth running of the project, maintaining legal and regulatory standards, providing accurate guidance and expert advice to stakeholders, and making decisions to ensure compliance.

The managing counsel will be responsible for construction and supply chain contracts, managing legal risk, ESG, proactively identifying potential disputes, managing external counsel, stakeholder management, supporting corporate governance matters, overseeing legal budgets, and line managing lawyers, paralegals, or trainees.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of post-qualification experience, a strong background in construction supply chain contracts, and experience of delivering on and handling complex large-scale infrastructure projects.

They will also support the legal director and head of legal on legal strategy and team development, and previous management experience is ideal.
