Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled accountant to join our team in London. As an Associate Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting for our UK legal entity under FRS 101. You will also prepare and report US GAAP adjustments for international entities, working closely with our global reporting team in Shanghai.

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office, with the opportunity to work with a dynamic and multicultural team. You will report to our Chief Accounting Officer based in London and work closely with our SEC Reporting Manager and other international finance team members.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review and prepare monthly management accounts for UK and other international entities
  2. Complete ownership of the preparation of UK legal entity's statutory accounts under FRS 101 and manage the audit process with external auditors
  3. Prepare monthly US GAAP adjustments for international entities
  4. Prepare audit deliverables and address queries from external auditors for the Group's quarterly filings with the SEC
  5. Review and reconcile banking transactions and expenses; prepare cash flow forecasts for the international region
  6. Weekly review of POs, goods receipt notes, supplier invoices, and payment runs for the UK entity to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the invoicing and payment process
  7. Preparation of ad-hoc reports and analyses as required by the central reporting team and FP&A
  8. Regular liaison with accounting teams, business teams, FP&A, legal, and tax
  9. Review key contracts to assess their impact on financial reporting
  10. Assisting the CAO in ad-hoc projects; technical accounting research and preparing accounting analyses/memos as required
  11. Assisting with finance-related internal policy development and process improvement
  12. Keeping track of accounting developments under IFRS and US GAAP
Requirements
  1. 1-2 years PQE as a qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA, or similar
  2. Previous experience in a similar role in industry or top-tier accounting firms
  3. Strong communication skills
  4. Attention to detail
  5. Readiness to work across different time zones
  6. Flexible team player with an orientation to finding solutions to new, complex accounting issues
  7. Mandarin language skills to coordinate with the global team
Nice to Have
  1. Experience working in a technology startup, semiconductor company, automotive OEM, or automotive technology provider
  2. Experience working in a multicultural, matrix environment
  3. Some accounts payable experience
