Job Overview

Packaging Source, an emerging packaging company in London, is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to manage our UK business's day-to-day financial activities.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. They should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in computer literacy, particularly with spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software like Microsoft Office and SAGE.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Processing Financial Transactions: The Bookkeeper will be responsible for processing payments, invoices, income, and receipts in a timely manner, entering data into accounting software (SAGE) accurately and efficiently.
  • Preparing Financial Statements: They will prepare financial statements, including trial balances, cash flow, profit and loss, income statements, and balance sheets, showcasing business income and expenditure.
  • Paying Vendor Invoices and Tracking Bank Accounts: The Bookkeeper will pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Completing VAT Returns: They will complete VAT returns, verifying the accuracy of business accounts and recording any inconsistencies to help the Accountants reconcile inaccuracies.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or relevant field.
  • 1-3 years of working experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role.
  • Qualified in accounting qualifications.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (UK GAAP).
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, especially with spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software like Microsoft Office, Excel, and SAGE.
  • Experience in financial reporting.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Fluent and professional-level verbal and written communication skills in English.
