About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Management Information Systems Team Leader to join our Data Distribution and Analytics (DDA) department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in delivering high-quality reporting and data extracts to the Business.

The Data Distribution Development teams are fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging to lead. Our company data is complex and vast, making the day-to-day work both varied and interesting. You will manage the team, lead large-scale projects, liaise with other departments, and ensure high-quality work is delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the design, development, and delivery of outputs are of the highest quality and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Act as the line manager for a busy team of engineers with varying degrees of experience.
  • Prioritize, triage, assign, and track work streams.
  • Maintain the highest level of governance on all work items.
  • Liaise with the Business and management to provide progress updates and escalations.
  • Ensure that requirements from the Business are accurate and complete.
  • Ensure the team's output meets requirements, while adhering to best architectural and design practices.
  • Improve work practices and procedures.
  • Appraise, mentor, coach, and develop the team as best meets their needs.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of highly optimized databases and aggregations that underpin most of the DDA reporting functions.

Requirements:

  • Recent commercial database development experience, including excellent T-SQL skills, preferably with SQL Server 2012 or later.
  • Good understanding of database design concepts and techniques, with the ability to convert complex problems into simple solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organized and adaptable, capable of managing multiple substantial work streams simultaneously.
  • Adept at prioritization, delivery, and driving efficiency in a high-throughput environment.
  • Ability to understand technical vernacular and effectively communicate to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Previous team management experience.
