Assistant Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our team at Get-Recruited (UK) Ltd. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager with Month End and Year End tasks, as well as assisting with day-to-day finance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Month End and Year End processes, including Supplier Statement reconciliations and VAT returns.
  • Oversee Purchase Ledger and assist with the input of Purchase Ledger invoices.
  • Handle Purchase invoice queries and resolve any issues.
  • Prepare supplier payment runs, post bank transactions, and send remittances.
  • Prepare Credit Control Reports with accurate debtor information.
  • Assist with Ad-hoc Sales Invoices.
  • Support the Management Accountant and other Finance team members with queries and information.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting in Excel.
Requirements:
  • Experience in an Assistant Accountant role or similar, such as Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant.
  • Good understanding of the Purchase Order process.
  • Highly computer literate with accounting software (ideally Sage) and operating at a Basic to Intermediate level with MS Excel.
  • Good understanding of VAT and how/when it is applied and reclaimed.
  • Inquisitive individual who is keen to learn and understand new processes.
  • Keen attention to detail is essential.
  • AAT or above would be an advantage, however, experience will be prioritised over qualifications.
