About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Dunboyne Court in Torquay. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for undertaking site repairs and maintenance duties, identifying potential maintenance issues, and liaising with specialists or contractors as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake site repairs and maintenance duties, ensuring a safe and secure environment for our customers
  • Identify potential maintenance issues and liaise with specialists or contractors to resolve them
  • Carry out planned routine works, such as decorating, to maintain the appearance and condition of our properties
  • Assist in scheduled building checks and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Perform occasional gardening duties to maintain the grounds and external areas of our properties
  • Act as a point of contact for contractors who are on site, ensuring smooth communication and coordination
  • Participate in occasional call-outs to address urgent maintenance issues

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a maintenance position is essential, with a proven track record of identifying and carrying out repairs
  • Experience operating hand tools and light machinery, with a good understanding of their safe use and maintenance
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and contractors
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and tasks
  • Working knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
