About the Role

Biffa is a leading waste management company that is changing the way people think about waste. We are seeking an experienced IT professional to lead our IT department and ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services and solutions across the business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our IT strategy, policies, and standards, and ensuring alignment with group objectives and goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services and solutions that meet the needs and expectations of the business and customers, and comply with relevant standards and regulations.
• Provide strategic direction and leadership for the IT department and ensure the effective and efficient use of IT resources and capabilities.
• Lead and manage the IT team and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure the IT department adheres to IT policies, procedures, and best practices, and implement appropriate risk management and governance frameworks.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on IT matters and issues, and resolve any IT-related problems and incidents.
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends, and assess their potential impact and value for the organisation.
• Management of the CSG IT Budget.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 10 years of IT experience, with 5 in a senior IT management role.
• Broad IT knowledge to include cloud and SaaS services, MS Stack (Azure, 365) Experience with PCI compliance and GDPR standards, emerging retail technologies.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop the IT team.
• Strong knowledge and expertise in the IT domains relevant to the retail sector, such as e-commerce, data analytics, cloud, security, and customer relationship management.
