Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Public Policy (Quantitative Methods)

We are seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at the Blavatnik School of Government. The successful candidate will be part of a new project funded by the Netherlands Court of Audit, led by Dr. Thomas Elston and Dr. Yuxi Zhang.

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will have first-rate skills in econometrics and graduate training in political science, sociology, public policy, and/or management. They will be based in Oxford, with occasional travel to London, The Hague, and other locations.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of using advanced quantitative methods, such as survival analysis and multi-level modeling. They must also have advanced proficiency in Dutch and be comfortable working with administrative data written in Dutch and conversing with the research team in both English and Dutch.

The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, a clear and effective writer, and have an interest in applied/policy-relevant research. They will be part of an international and multidisciplinary team using advanced quantitative methods to examine the effect of the Court's activities on the ministries and agencies of the Dutch Government.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced quantitative research using econometrics and other methods
  • Work with administrative data written in Dutch
  • Communicate research findings to the team and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of research projects and proposals

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Advanced proficiency in Dutch
  • First-rate skills in econometrics
  • Graduate training in political science, sociology, public policy, and/or management
