Logistics Operations Manager

We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Logistics Operations Manager to oversee our transport and distribution activities. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in fleet management within a high-energy setting and demonstrate a history of successfully leading operational functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficiency and quality of our logistics services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily functions of the logistics department, with a strong emphasis on experience with heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) being crucial.
  • Effectively manage a team of drivers and their respective vehicles.
  • Coordinate all aspects of dispatching, routing, and monitoring delivery vehicles.
  • Ensure adherence to all transport regulations, policies, and procedures, particularly concerning tachographs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drivers to enhance performance.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements.
  • Guarantee that all vehicles are maintained and serviced to the highest standards.
  • Maintain precise administrative documentation.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address any disciplinary matters.
  • Oversee health and safety compliance for the fleet.
  • Collaborate with yard personnel to ensure accurate product handling, quantities, locations, and timing.
  • Experience in the building supplies sector is advantageous.
  • This position may require working alternate Saturday mornings.
