A challenging Senior Civil Engineer position has become available with AA Euro Group, a leading M&E Contractor. We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer to join our existing Civil Engineering team in Glasgow.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and managing civil engineering works from tender through project delivery and post-construction. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the Power & Renewables industry across various civil engineering disciplines and project life cycles.

You will work closely with our experienced Civil Engineering team under the guidance of senior colleagues to enhance the existing capability. Our team collaborates with internal stakeholders such as Electrical Engineering, Estimators, Project Managers, Construction Managers, and external stakeholders like Client representatives, design consultants, and civil and structural subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Tender Stage:
  • Review ITT documentation regarding civil engineering aspects.
  • Prepare preliminary civil engineering designs to support pricing, including conceptual earthworks designs, drainage layouts, access road designs, structural designs, and construction compound layouts.
  • Conduct civil engineering risk assessments to establish a risk profile and risk-pot allowances.
  • Liaise with civil engineering contractors to discuss project requirements.
Pre-Construction / Design Phase:
  • Support the handover of projects between estimating and operations teams.
  • Design management of civil engineering consultants.
  • Review external civil designs against specifications, works information, and client requirements.
  • Liaise with civil works designers and contractors to ensure site readiness.
Construction Phase:
  • Provide ongoing civil engineering support during construction works.
  • Assess risks and capture changes in cost/time/reduction in quality.
  • Undertake site visits and audits to ensure works meet agreed designs and standards.
Project Completion / Post-Construction Phase:
  • Review as-built record drawings.
  • Capture lessons learned and distribute among project teams.
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification (HND or higher) in Civil Engineering or similar degree.
  • Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience.
  • Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in the Power & Renewables Sector.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to undertake site visits across the UK & Ireland.
