Senior Flood Risk Modeller and Hydrologist

Our Sustainable Water Management Team is seeking a Senior Flood Risk Modeller and Hydrologist to join our national fluvial and pluvial modelling team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of infrastructure projects, including highways, rail, energy, nuclear, development, and flood risk management sectors.

The team works together to deliver hydraulic modelling and hydrology studies to support projects from diverse sectors. As a senior member of the team, you will help drive the delivery of key projects and receive support and mentoring from senior colleagues and technical flood risk modelling lead specialists.

  • Provide technical delivery for fluvial and pluvial modelling projects, including experience using flood modelling software, such as FEH, Statistical, and ReFH.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop more junior colleagues in fluvial and pluvial modelling.
  • Ensure technical quality by self-checking your work and checking work from the technical team.
  • Contribute to the preparation of new work proposals by supporting scoping and estimation of effort.
  • Take on client and stakeholder liaison.
  • Manage data.

We're looking for someone with a proven track record in undertaking fluvial and pluvial hydraulic modelling, knowledge of UK hydrology, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and commitment to professional development are also essential.
